Popis
PWT technology is a process of refining less valuable species of deciduous trees using ammonia, which significantly changes the mechanical and aesthetic properties of wood.
It is the processing of deciduous trees according to a defined technology, where the final product is PWT wood, which with its mechanical and color properties approximates the properties of exotic woods such as teak, mahogany, palisader or ebony.
Very good physical and mechanical properties, durability and longevity, availability of raw materials and price compared to imported tropical woods give the possibility of versatile use in the construction industry, furniture industry, shipbuilding, production of musical instruments, i. wherever wood, plastics or light metals are still used.
The main reason for replacing these PWT materials with wood is its many times longer service life, weather resistance and minimal maintenance.
The technology was chosen due to the excellent utility, aesthetic and mechanical properties of PWT wood.
A valuable feature for the production of windows is the dimensional stability of PWT wood, which is several times better than that of natural wood, resistance to rot and cracking (generally against weather conditions).
The resistance to salt water is also interesting, which gives the possibility of use for the production of yacht parts and abrasion resistance for products stressed by abrasion (wagon floors, wooden parts of various equipment). Abrasion resistance is approximately five times that of natural wood.
PWT wood gives the possibility of use in a number of other applications:
- Load-bearing static elements in the construction of wooden structures
- Veneer production
- Manufacture of garden furniture
- Manufacture of windows
- Supporting elements in shipbuilding, lining of luxury ships
